Ellen Bertrand
Ellen has proudly called Ottawa home for over 30 years, building a rewarding career in Canada’s federal public service, with a focus on the natural and cultural heritage sectors. A lifelong cyclist since getting her first bike at age eight, Ellen sees biking as both a symbol of independence and a fun, sustainable way to get around.
She has explored the world on two wheels—from the scenic routes of the Ottawa Valley to the bike-friendly paths of France, the Netherlands and Panama. At home, she appreciates Ottawa’s unique blend of urban nature, accessible green spaces, and its vibrant calendar of sports, music, and cultural festivals.
Having raised her family here, Ellen is passionate about sharing her love and knowledge of the city. Whether you’re visiting for the first time or rediscovering familiar streets, she looks forward to guiding you through the stories, sights, and hidden gems of Canada’s capital.
