“We are a group of five women who were very fortunate to discover Escape Bicycle Tours in Ottawa owned by Maria Rasouli. We wanted something unique and memorable for a girlfriend’s 50th birthday and Maria delivered in spades. From my first contact with Maria to the end of our trip, we were treated like very special guests. Maria took into account our past cycling history, site seeing interests and food likes and dislikes as she embraced the challenge of coming up with a full day cycling and foodie tour. Absolutely brilliant! We were guided by extremely knowledgeable, relaxed and fun Escape cycling guide Lucie on a route that encompassed the best of historic and new Ottawa, beautiful vistas, relaxed bike trails and easy city riding. Throughout the day we were then met at pre-selected culinary locations by food entrepreneur Stefanie of Ottawa’s C’est Bon cooking school. Each food location we cycled to and toured was incredibly unique and reflected Ottawa’s diverse culinary culture. Bike rentals, helmets, water bottles, lunch and food tastings were all included at a very reasonable price. What was completely a bonus was the combined thought and care that Maria, Lucie and Stefanie took to make our day so memorable. Members of our group have taken day cycling tours in locations ranging from India to France. We all agreed that Escape put Ottawa cycling on our own personal maps. Thank you so much Maria and company!”
Heather“This is an attraction I would certainly recommend to everybody visiting Ottawa. Maria is just amazing and she is more than willing to accomodate special requests and plan a tour suitable to your needs. This tour takes you on a tour of Ottawa in a way that you would never see if if you were not a local. Breath taking views and locations, personalized itineraries, patience and pace adjustment according to skills and athletic levels. This tour is fully guided and commented, just full of surprises and tidbits about Ottawa. Ride along the Rideau and experience Ottawa in a different way. Bike rental is included and all bikes are fit and adjusted to the individual participants. Group sizes can vary, we were a group of 7. Very very impressive, don’t miss this gem while visiting Ottawa!”
Linda C“Maria organized the best 30 wedding anniversary ride ever.We were accompanied by Hans, who is not only a great cyclist but a historian. We cycled approx 35 kms and got to see alot of Ottawa as well as learn the history. We then had a yummy lunch at “Art is In Bakery and restaurant. Then off to “Beyond the Pale brewery “for another taste and tour. Our last adventure was to taste Canada’s best Gelato at “Stella Luna”.This tour was arranged by Maria and she exceeded our expectations, what a fabulous way to celebrate an anniversary and see Ottawa. We loved everything about it and would do this again.Thank you from Ed and Janice Rachinski”
Ed and Janice Rachinski“Maria was very prompt, polite, and easy to deal with via email before the tour. At the tour, she was very helpful with setting up our bikes and helmets. We were then introduced to our tour guide Marie. We had a special request for the tour to learn about the different areas within the tour and Marie didn’t disappoint! Marie knew about the city like the back of her hand and gave a genuine impression that she truely cares for and loves the city, which made the tour more fun. The pace and the route we took was adapted to our fitness level as well. Great tour!”
