You will be fully refunded if you give us 24 hours’ notice. There will be no refunds for any cancellations within 24 hours prior to the activity start date and time. Please inquire about the private tour cancellation policy.
Are there any hills?
Ottawa is a flat city, so most of the ride will be on flat bike paths. There might be a few inclines that can be easily managed when riding our multi-geared quality bikes.
What if it rains?
Your ride will continue in light rain. We supply you with rain ponchos.
In case of heavy rain or storm forecast, your trip will be cancelled — the final call will be made two hours before the start time of your tour, and we’ll contact you by phone and email.
If your tour is cancelled due to the weather, you will be fully refunded or can choose to keep your credit for an alternative date or time.
Is biking in Ottawa safe?
Ottawa is an extremely bike-friendly city. Almost all of your ride will be on Ottawa’s well-maintained cycle paths. In a few exceptions, we will be riding on backroads in neighbourhoods or crossing streets with traffic lights. As well, we start all our tours with a safety briefing and proper fitting for your bike and safety helmet.
Can I bring my own bicycle?
Yes. Please ensure that your bicycle is in good working condition and you have spare parts (e.g., proper tube size) in case. You will receive a $10 discount for bringing your own bicycle.

“AMAZING. Seriously fantastic day celebrating a friend’s bachelorette. She loves biking and food, so this was the perfect event. We were greeted by Maria who helped me plan this private tour for our friends. She made everything easy and exciting. Nice new bikes along with helmets and water were provided. Our tour guide, Chris, was a hilariously knowledgeable older man who took us from Sparks street down to the Glebe where we then had a walking food tour with C’est Bon Cooking. Because we were all from Ottawa, the tour was quick and efficient but he still told us some great facts and stories which made us fall in love with Ottawa that much more. Highly recommend to anyone who’d like to experience the city a little differently. And if you love food/interested in trying something new, definitely do the Bike & Bites tour. Cannot say enough good things about how great of a day it was!”
Krista“We were a group of 4 and had Sparky as a our tour guide for the Bike + Bites Tour in partnership with C’est Bon. Sparky took us along the canal and had a lot of history and Ottawa facts that were new to us. There’s so much more of Ottawa you can discover on a bike vs. in a car. We met up with Stefanie at Lansdowne to visit the Farmer’s Market and headed to other local Ottawa gems before finishing the tour with ice cream (best idea on a hot day). Overall, the excursion was a lot of fun and informative (and tasty). Would recommend for anyone visiting Ottawa or to anyone who are Ottawans who wants to do something fun on the weekend that doesn’t involve “just going downtown”.”
Ahn P“Great experience with Escape Bicycle Tours, and C’Est Bon Cooking, doing the Bike and Bites tour. The bikes were great, in good shape and pre-configured based on the our heights (sent ahead of time). The guide was excellent, very knowledgeable, and the food selections were really good. Great experience”
Geoffrey Dudding“We gave this adventure tour to my husband for his birthday. We did bike and bites! We were delighted with our guides and we really appreciated the variety of food! Great experience!”
